The Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville ROAR is a professional cheerleading squad consisting of a group of 31 dancers who are the official cheerleaders for the National Football League or NFL franchise the Jacksonville Jaguars. The ROAR have been an integral part of the Jaguars lineup for their home matches ever since the team played its first match in the NFL since it was selected as a franchise prior to the 1995 season.

The ROAR has performed in every home match for the Jaguars since their opening game. The name has been derived from the slogan ‘the ROAR of the Jaguars’, which was just spoken in jest by the manager of the team before the establishment of the dance squad and when the squad was founded, that terminology just stuck and it became very popular with the fans of the team. It has been said that during the half time show, when the Jacksonville ROAR performs, the roar of the crowd is enough to generate fear among the travelling fans as well as the team and if the home team is down, there is no better pep talk available than the roar of the ROAR. Moreover, in order to harvest the fans’ interest in the cheerleading squad, the Jaguars decided to launch a swimsuit calendar featuring the ROAR girls every spring and these calendars are sold at the merchandise stores during matches.

There is one special edition calendar that is signed by all the girls which is auctioned off to raise money for charity. The current roster consist of Allie, Cara, Carrie, Chelsea, Devin, Emily, Erin, Heather, Jordan, Kaitlin, Kaleigh, Kalli, Karen, Katie, Katrina, Kayla C, Kayla H, Kelley, Kelli, Kember, Kristen, La’Farrah, Lauren B, Lauren F, Marisa, Marissa, Michelle, Rachael, Samantha, Shenette and TaJonda, who make up the lineup for the Jacksonville ROAR. Los Angeles Lakers and the Laker Girls.
