Picabo Street

Picabo Street is a retired racer of the alpines from America. She was born on the 3rd of April in the year of 1971. She had been the winner of super G gold medals in the Winter Olympics of 1998 and also in the downhill at the World Championships of 1996. She has also won three other medals at the World championship and at the Olympic. In 1996 and in 1995 Picabo Street won the titles of the downhill seasons of World Cup.

Picabo Street was the first woman from America to have made such an achievement. She has won the downhill races of World Cup 9 times. It was in the year of 2004 that Picabo Street’s name was put up in the Hall of Fame of National Ski. Picabo Street took birth in Triumph in Idaho. Her name, Picabo, was kept after the name of a nearby village. She learned to race and ski in a small farm where she grew up. She went to St. Mark School of Rowland High in Utah.

She came to study in the Foundation of Ski Education of Sun Valley. In 1989, Picabo Street joined the team of U.S. At the age of 21, she appeared in the World Cup for the first time on the 6th of December in the year of 1992.
