Las Cruces Vaqueros

Las Cruces Vaqueros

The Las Cruces Vaqueros are a new professional team playing baseball from the Mexican city of Las Vaqueros that was founded just last year in 2010 and will compete for the first time in 2011. The Vaqueros will be playing in the Pecos League, which is an independent league and not, in any way affiliated to the Major League or Minor League Baseball.

The home ground of the Las Cruces Vaqueros is the small, 1,500 seat stadium known as the Apodoca Park, which is located just on the outskirts of the town. The team had signed up to play in the Continental Baseball League in 2010 but change its affiliation just one year later to play in the more up and coming Pecos League.

The team was founded by a group of fans in order to have their own sports team in town that would play matches regularly in the city. The team is currently owned by Andrew Dunn. The colors of the Las Cruces Vaqueros are Royal, Gold and Powder Blue, which was settled upon after a fan vote.

Although the Vaqueros are a completely new team, the fans of the team expect instant success and are hoping that they can win the league at their first attempt itself.
