Clearwater Threshers – The Little Phillies
Florida has plenty of teams in the Minor League Baseball and one of the foremost professional teams among them is the Clearwater Threshers. The team entered the Western Division in 2004 and has been competing in it since then. The Home ground of the Threshers is the Bright House Field that is located in the Clearwater locality of Florida and seats almost 7,000 people.
The team has managed a High-A affiliation with the Philadelphia Phillies and has been so since 1985, which was the first season in the history of the franchise of the Clearwater Threshers.
As a result of this affiliation with the Phillies, the Threshers were named the Clearwater Phillies between 1985 and 2003. With the change of stadium from the Jack Russell Memorial Stadium to the present address, the team renamed itself as the Clearwater Threshers.
The team has had very little success over the years, in spite of its affiliation with the Phillies, who are among the most successful teams in baseball history. It has won only one league title and one division title, both of which came in 2007. The Clearwater Threshers are a team with plenty of talent but that hasnt done much justice to the franchise.
