CJ McCollum is one of the biggest stars in the Division I basketball. Just a freshman in 2010, he was the most prolific scorer that season. He plays for the Lehigh Junior Team and comes from the town of Canton in Ohio. CJ McCollum hails from Glen Oak High School. His high school also produced the famous basketball player, Kosta Koufos. Standing tall at 6’3, CJ McCollum is being hailed as the next big thing in American basketball.
He scored 26 points for his team against the top-seeded team, Kansas. While he still has an awful lot to prove if he wants to make a name for himself in the national scene, he has shown incredible promise at such an young age. During a Patriot League match, he exhibited exceptional prowess in offense, which could become a valuable asset as his physique develops. His height proved to be a hindrance in letting him shoot from the perimeter, but he was surprisingly successful from just beyond the arc.
He is a very steady ball-handler and often chooses to run to the rim using the defender’s momentum against him. In spite of having fairly predictable moves and not possessing great leaping ability, he does surprisingly well when he attacks the rim. If his current progress is anything to go by, CJ McCollum be a name to look out for in the near future.
