Cecil Fielder – a power Hitter par Excellence

Cecil Fielder was one of the most popular power hitters of his generation and most generations to tell the truth garnering a reputation that stood on his capacity and capability to hit home runs and to get his team out of trouble whenever they were in a bad patch.

Very few hitters were as a powerful and as popular as Cecil Fielder in the late 1980s and early 1990s for hitting the ball out of the park and this reputation made him one of the top earners in the history of the sport at that time. He represented teams such as the Toronto Blue Jays from 1985-1988, the Detroit Tigers from 1990-1996, the New York Yankees between 1996 and 1997 and the Anaheim Angels as well as the Cleveland Indians in 1997.

Since George foster in 1977, no one had hit 50 home runs until Cecil Fielder and he achieved that feat in 1990. Having attended college in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cecil Fielder first drew the attention of scouts when he hit an amazing 38 home runs in the Central league in Japan and was quickly snapped up by the Blue Jays and the rest, as they say, is history.
