Billy Jean King is one of the most famous female athletes of our times. She was professional tennis player from the United States of America. She is not only a great athlete but also a great person.

Billy Jean King was born November 22nd in the year 1943, she is a legend among all female tennis players and in her illustrious career she won a total of 12 singles titles in the grand slam, 11 womens doubles titles and 12 mixed doubles titles, there is almost no competition where she has had no impact. The highest point in her career would be in 1971 when she defeated Bobby Riggs who was a mens singles champion.

It was a historic match and one of the few ever played, no one could believe that Billy Jean King will be able to defeat Riggs. Billy Jean King was a great activist for womens rights and could never accept that women would not be regarded equal to men in society. Apart from the tennis court, she fought for equality of sexes outside also. Billy Jean King will always be remembered for being one very tough nut to crack and she truly lived her life on the court like a king.
