Ben Hogan is said to be the greatest golfer of all times in the history of the game of golf. Born in Texas, on the 13th of August, 1912, this American golfer has many a great wins under his belt. Although our golfing hero Ben Hogan had started playing professional golf in January 1930, it was not until march 1940 that he won his first pro tournament playing individually.
Ben Hogan is widely known for his ball striking ability, which is nearly automatic. This is fondly known among his fans as the secret. A lot of speculations have been made over the years to understand the exact details of Ben Hogans secret. One such theory is that he did a special kind of wrist movement known as the cupping under. Another section of people are of the opinion that the way he moved his right knee was an important aspect.
However, Ben Hogan had later revealed that he cupped his left wrist at the top of back swing and used a weaker left grip. Ben Hogan had won nine major championships. He was awarded the honor of being Member, World Golf Hall of Fame; he was the PGA Tour Player of the Year 1948, 1950, 1951, 1953, member of 2 U.S. Ryder cup teams, Captain of U.S. Ryder cup team 1947, 1949. This legendary golf player, Ben Hogan passed away on July 25, 1997 at the age of 84.
